Tech CEO arrested after Capitol Hill riots

Bradley Rukstales, CEO of tech firm Cogensia, was arrested Wednesday following riots on the Capitol and is now apologizing for his actions.

Cogensia is a marketing solutions firm based mostly in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Rukstales’ actions have been his personal, the corporate mentioned in a Twitter put up: “He was not performing on behalf of Cogensia, nor do his actions in any approach replicate the insurance policies or values of our agency. He has been positioned on depart of absence whereas we assess additional.”

Rukstales apologized for his actions in a Thursday interview with CBS 2 Chicago. Fox Information was unable to achieve Rukstales for remark.

The tech CEO was certainly one of many demonstrators who stormed the Capitol on Wednesday in what has been known as a historic attack on democracy. The siege left five people useless, together with one Capitol police officer.

“All the things that occurred yesterday I feel was completely horrible,” Rukstales informed CBS 2. “I’m sorry in my view in it.”

Rukstales shared the next assertion with the outlet when requested why he stormed the Capitol: “In a second of extraordinarily poor judgment. … I adopted a whole lot of others by an open set of doorways to the Capitol constructing to see what was happening inside. I used to be arrested for the primary time in my life and charged with illegal entry.”

He continued: “My determination to enter the Capitol was unsuitable, and I’m deeply regretful to have executed so. With out qualification and as a peaceable and law-abiding citizen, I condemn the violence and destruction that came about in Washington. I provide my honest apologies for my indiscretion, and I deeply remorse that my actions have introduced embarrassment to my household, colleagues, buddies and fellow countrymen.”

Rukstales concluded that his actions have been the “single worst private determination” of his life and that he has “no excuse.”
